Rainy Day and a Paper Boat

 Day 12 : #OctPoWriMO2020

Today’s theme is wonderful since it has taken me back to the amazingly beautiful childhood memories. Rainy season has always been my favorite.  I used to make  paper boats and watched them gliding happily on the flowing rain water ! Oh, those are great memories and the very thought brings a smile to my face. Thanks Morgan for the lovely prompt today.

Attempted poetry form :” Zanila Rhyme” ( the third line rhyming internally is pretty interesting!)

Rainy Day and a Paper Boat

The clouds had gathered above with a promise

My little eye watched eagerly, hopefully

A downpour and a rainbow I adore

I smiled holding the paper boat playfully.

Soon raindrops knocked on my window sill

My eyes sparkled with joy , my wish granted

A rainbow I adore and a downpour

My tiny heart on cloud number nine, happy and satisfied.

It was evening, when the rain decided to bid adieu

Drops became droplets leaving me hoping

A downpour and a rainbow I adore

The street was a shallow river, flowing and singing.

I flew down the stairs, as if I had wings!

The clear sky and happiness had come for a rendezvous

A rainbow I adore and a downpour

Dotting the flowing street were paper boats , a riot of hues.
