#OctPoWriMo : Prompt 11 - Sing out your success
The vibrant rainbow,
Gave birth to hope,
In the sparking eyes,
That dotted the innocent faces,
Laced with dirt,
The gates of wonderland opened,
For the ones deprived
Of the basic requirement- education,
Yes, books infused them with,
Freedom. creativity,
Their little minds wandered,
Through the pages,
Filled with wonder,
They dreamed -
Of a better life cushioned with the knowledge acquired,
Her endeavor finally yielded results,
She felt elated, complete,
Like never before, satisfaction inundated,
Happiness knew no bounds,
When she saw the same children
Touch the pinnacles of success,
Education enlightened their minds,
Brought them from darkness to light,
Their achievement is her achievement,
She did not earn loads of money,
But respect, yes tonnes of it,
Today, as she waits at the dusk of her life,
A lingering smile adorns her wrinkled face,
Yes, dreams have been fulfilled,
She has done it !

DeleteBeautiful--and I totally understand your perspective because I am a teacher. "Their achievement is her achievement" says it all. So true.
