#OctPoWriMo- Prompt : Sensitivity

Today's prompt gave me a unique thought of dedicating this piece to my fabulous Mom who is the most strongest and the best woman I have ever known in my life.

Hope you like reading it as much as I enjoyed composing it :-)

The fragrance of wet earth,
After a shower,
Enthuses the thirsty heart,
With pleasure immense.

In spite of materialistic cravings,
Doesn't one feel happy at these small things?

The tasty memories of food at home- cooked,
Specially prepared by mom beloved,
Makes the heart go numb,
When being far away, from home.

In spite of materialistic cravings,
Doesn't one feel happy at these small things?

In days of despair,
When the entire world seems unknown,
All faces masked, screaming unfair,
The soothing touch of mom, all pain vanishes into thin air.

In spite of materialistic cravings,
Doesn't one feel happy at these small things?

All hardships seem worthwhile,
All sacrifices meaningful surrender,
When you see,
A lovely smile on the face of your mother.

In spite of materialistic cravings,
Doesn't one feel happy at these small things?

Happiness comes in all forms,
Bringing exuberance, joy and glitter,
My happiest moments are those,
When my mother's laughter - I hear.

In spite of materialistic cravings,
Doesn't one feel happy at these small things?
