The Wooden Bridge

 #OctPoWriMo2020- Day 5

Going a bit different today with the form but weaving the words around the theme of the day :” Creating from your heart” with inspiration taken from an amazing click shared by a friend.

Form : Free Verse

Title of the Poem : The Wooden Bridge

Greenery caped the surroundings of the park

My heart craved for a long walk

Amidst the thick foliage

But all I could see from my cold window

Was the warm wooden bridge

Leading to a dense growth

Of trees and leaves entwined together

To prove “ together forever”

Does exist and is lived

The branches leaning forward

As if eager to make acquaintance

With anyone who happened to pass by

Sharing happy stories , I believe

For they have seen and heard so much

Their hearts must be full to the brim

Like mine

Longing for a patient ear

To share and hear

Creating bonds from experiences mingled

Straight from the Heart

Dissipating all fear and apprehension

We need the healing touch

More than ever Now

To cascade over the troublesome tidings

To live wholeheartedly without fear

Spreading love, joy near and far

All this and much more

That wooden bridge reminded me of

Of happier times when laughter echoed in the air

The trees swayed in the evening breeze

Those are the happy memories

They want to share, I am sure

For they have seen and heard so much

Their hearts must be full to the brim

Like mine

But all I could see from my cold window

Was the wooden bridge warm and welcoming

And my heart longed for their acquaintance, one more time.

Leaves and Love

Day 4 and a new Challenge!

Falling and Blitz form of poem, an interesting combination. When I think of "falling", I think about "falling in love,", " falling into the world of creativity", " The Autumn season: season of falls"," falling into the unknown" since thats what I experience when I start writing. It's more like travelling without knowing the destination but that's what makes the journey more interesting and the experiences collected along the way become priceless.

So I am writing about my journey each time I sit and think about writing a poem. The concept, the words that follow, the rhyme, the form ....all are stops along the way that makes each moment so preciously memorable.

" Leaves and Love"

Pitter -patter, pitter -patter said the raindrops

Pitter-patter, pitter -patter, softly on the leaves

Leaves dance in delight

Leaves of yellow, orange, green

Green is my favorite color

Green is life, Nature

Nature soothes the soul

Nature heals the soul

Soul searches for fulfillment

Soul searches for the calm

Calm is the morning today

Calm embalms my being

Being in such a state

Being in the arms of solitude

Solitude is my companion

Solitude makes me creative

Creative thoughts crowd my mind

Creative words flow like water

Water droplets sparkle in bright sunshine

Water droplets twinkle in daylight

Daylight sweeps my room

Daylight sweeps my writing table

Table beckons me to sit

Table welcomes me to write

Write I will soon

Write I will my experiences

Experiences which I gather

Experiences of our journey together

Together with my thoughts

Together we will fall

Fall into the wilderness of words

Fall into the magical world

World of creativity and expression

World where there is no hesitation

Hesitation in expression

Hesitation in expressing

Expressing my innermost feelings

Expressing elevates me to freedom

Freedom of falling and soaring high

Freedom of sharing and creating

Creating without any fear

Creating only to express Joy

Joy of composition

Joy of sharing

Sharing is healing

Sharing is love

Love is eternal

Love is magical

Magical

Eternal.

Dear Autumn

So it's Day 3 and today the theme is " Beauty in Chaos" in #OctPoWriMo 2020.

Attempted poetry form : Free Verse ( I love this !! )

Nature can teach us and heal us with a magical touch in so many ways. We just need to pause and observe the surrounding. The myriad of autumn colors have always amazed me. I dedicate this poem to the beauty and colors of Autumn.

Penned the below lines more like a free flowing brush touching the blank canvas to create something meaningful and magical!

Dear Autumn

Dusk had enveloped the horizon in a cozy embrace

Flocks of birds dotted the sky on their way homeward

Chirping away excitedly , filling the still air with their melodious cacophony

The hills afar were alive with the myriad hues of autumn

The floor of the woods , a riot of colors!

Beautiful! Magnificent!

I stood still while the beauty of nature mesmerized me

A strange fulfillment thronged my heart to the brim

I could see beauty even in the hullabaloo of Life!

Inspired I stand upright!

Palette in my hand, I start mixing colors one after the other

Red, Orange, Pink, Blue, Violet, Green, Yellow

The chaotic mix met the blank canvas

Hesitatingly at first, but soon became friends!

The strokes of the brush became more confident as each moment passed by

Dusk had given way to night

As I looked up at the starry sky, I smiled

I was not alone anymore

Hope , Belief, Confidence were my companions

For now I could see beauty even in the hullabaloo of Life!

To Autumn and to the conglomeration of hues accompanied

Salute!

For now I could see beauty even in the hullabaloo of Life!

I Create

Well , Day 2 and I choose the Haiku form.

I feel vulnerable every time I decide to publish my poems online and share them with the rest of the world. But, I have also come to realize that vulnerability can be overcome with courage and resilience. That brief moment of leaving fear behind leads to joy and satisfaction.

So the presentation for today is titled as “ I Create”.

It signifies my journey from feeling vulnerable to realizing that it leads to creation and joy.

I Create

Fingers tremble with fear,uncertainty

My composition sits waiting, to be unveiled

I click, I publish, I create.

Shine and Spread Light ( Poetry Form : Acrostic)

Well, Its that time of the Year again !!

Yes, #OctPoWriMo 2020, and Day1.

My creation for the first prompt ( I have chosen the Acrostic Form).

The Year has been difficult for many and I am no exception. I have tried to showcase the emotional journey of feeling restless to gaining hope again through art and creativity through this composition. I always find motivation from any thing that is creative : music, painting, dance....and it rejuvenates my soul and my being.

Hope you like my first presentation.

So here it is !!

Shine and Spread Light!

Sunday transcends to Monday

However with no difference as such

In Fact the days in the calendar seem stuck

Never had I imagined would feel so restless

Each passing day being imprisoned within the four walls

All through the days the Sun shone bright

Never give Up HOPE, says my inner self

Days of despair are soon to be over for good

So I picked up my Brush

Played with colors on the empty canvas

Rejuvenated , excited, Alive!

Enveloped with Life, once again!

And soon the vacant days were resplendent with purpose

Doing what soothed the body and mind!

Life will go on , it will always find a Way

Incessant, steady, unbroken, solid, continuous

Going along with the flow, one step at a time

Healing, Rising, Shining Bright!

Tomorrow is a New Day, bringing Hope and Love to all and sundry!

I am a Woman

I am a Woman
Able to be one with nature
Able to handle pressure
Able to love, care and protect
Extend Empathy in need
Emotional and unpredictable at times
Love abstract along with symmetry
Being crazy is just another trait in me
Adore the feel of wind in my tresses
Flying higher and higher
With wings of knowledge and ambition
Desire to be one and everything
Walk, run , topple but get up
With fresh energy and vigor everytime!
Nothing is impossible to achieve
I move along the trajectory of life
With this Firm belief
Yes, I am aWoman
       And am
Proud to be One.

Another Goodbye

Another goodbye
It's been two months now
That we decided to go on different ways
It's been two months now
That I still cope up with the days without your presence
Every corner of the house still smells of you
Strange I had heard that time heals all wounds
But with each passing moment I crave more for you
Your laughter still echoes in the hall
The couch still reminds of you lying asleep
Innocent,adorable like a baby
The sunshine still peeps through the hole in the curtain
Didn't feel like changing it though
The window sill sits quietly now
Missing the strumming of the guitar strings
sudden jingle of the wind chimes
Wakes me from a reverie
And transports me back to reality
It's been two months now
Still trying to move on
Leave those memories behind
I try in vain when awake
I bid goodbye every night to you in my sleep
You own my thoughts now
There is no escape
But to bid you farewell again and again
As yet Another goodbye lay stuck on my lips@Amrita (my entry for last month's poetry challenge)
