Sweet Tooth and Constellation

Day 17:  Prompt - Savory, Attempted Poetry form : Sonnet

Sweet Tooth

Chocolates, pastries , my all time favorites
Cakes with dollops of cream hovering in my dream,
Sweets dressed in colors of rainbow flock the streets,
Ice creams packed in smart boxes gleam!

Toffees - Dark, light, brown, yellow and blue,
Chattering away in merriment at the counter,
All decorated in my favored hue,
The magnetic pull, too strong, too tender !

Gulped down a mouthful of fantasy,
Lost in a whirlwind of taste magnificent,
Journeyed in the wonderland of sweet savory,
Tossed in the ocean, oh so sweet, so turbulent!

Ecstasy unimaginable , experience heavenly,
Yes, my sweet tooth makes me happy and jolly!


Day 18: Prompt : Senseless,  Attempted Poetry form : Free Verse

Constellation

Surrounded by constellation of emotions,
Senseless at times, yet endearing
Comprising of dollops of cognizance,
Memories playing hide and seek,
A smile, a tear, a shooting star near the creek
The dusk glistening with myriad shades,
Of feelings painted with love - by the Day,
Meaningless- it may seem today,
But will pithy significance  Someday!

Cupid smiled as they stopped at Love's crossroad- unknown,
To the magical string their loves entwined, untold,
Fate wove a love story fresh -  like never before,
Nature's gallery adorned with blossoms galore,
Days flew on wings of butterflies beaming,
The air rejoicing their union, singing,
Spring arrived early that evening,
A note near the door, leaving,
-  Ever Yours and Loving.

Gleaming rays of the Sun,
Sneaking through the green foliage,
Playing hide and seek with the stream, ageless.

The soft breeze kissing the petals,
Swaying to and fro in the fun,
Gleaming rays of the Sun.

Music is in the October air,
I stare at the beauty around me, speechless,
Playing hide and seek with the stream, ageless.

Basking in the glorious solitude,
A love story has begun,
Gleaming rays of the Sun.

Prancing back to the childhood days,
Days accentuated with innocence seamless
Playing hide and seek with the stream, ageless.

Let all worries dissipate in
The gleaming rays of the Sun

Hope!

Melancholic blue
The sky
And the dew!

A glimpse
Of the moon
Vanished in eclipse!

Attempted poetry form : Mono Rhyme

Stood brooding at the altered horizon,
Across the bank distant by a furlong,
Of the river gurgling along,
Curving, swirling around all obstacles strong,
Still the sparkling water singing a lively song,
The pebbles joyously chorused daylong,
My eyes traced their journey long,
Amidst thunderstorms, sunny morns, right and wrong,
Braving all adversaries , beating the victory gong,
I realized - this is the place that I belong,
Change is imminent, I plunged in headlong,
Flowing with it, I travel now, all day long!

Strong Emotions- The Ruins

#OctPoWriMo2016- Day 12, Prompt : Strong

Re posting an old poem of mine depicting the strength of memories entwined with powerful emotions.

Salvaging emotions,
Memories echoing
In the empty halls,
The air stale with dust,
Accumulated over ages and ages hence,
I stand alone, aloft,
The winged desires,
Mock the desolate chambers,
Ashen hued against the crimson horizon,
Somewhere distant, a tear drop tinkles,
Shattering the silence,
Like a thunderstorm rampant,
An owl hoots,
A cricket joins the chorus,
Beautiful is the night,
Bathed in silver moonlight,
Silence heaves a sigh,
At the spectacle
In delight!

Gesture

The prompt for today had left me thinking about the flow and my muse. Incidentally I was lucky to spend a fabulous time with friends and even though I have known them for a long time, still the sweet gestures displayed by them completely floored me , I was overwhelmed and thought about sharing my feelings in the form of a poem since the experience truly unfolded a completely unique side of my friends.
Today I will not quite follow the poetry form though.

Laughter cocooned the environ,
Magic overflowed in forms known- unknown,
Zig-zagged through music, food, conversation,
"Äre you the same person",?
Quizzed the logical grey cells in unison,
Gestures unfolded in ways unique,
Beautiful, overwhelmingly loving,
Cloaked the heart with warmth mesmerizing,
Moments fossilized in the memory pages,
To be cherished in times hence!

The giant wheel of emotion,
Oscillating between pain and elation,
Spiraling down my heart,the dagger of suffocating relation!

Dark clouds enveloped the horizon,
A lone ray of sunshine playing hide and seek with

Standing atop the cliff of confusion,
Memories gushing past like bursts of wind in succession
Oscillating between pain and elation

Grasping desperately at the last straw,
Fleeing from the whirlwind of isolation
Spiraling down my heart, the dagger of suffocating relation!
