A boat made of paper

I find myself
Floating on little rivulets
Born after a heavy downpour
Bringing young aspiring minds together
I am made of paper of all colors
Creating a little rainbow
Of memories
Amidst otherwise, a  busy street

I sneak a glance at the grown-ups
Running all around like busy bees
Did I catch an imminent feeling of longing?
In those accomplished but sad eyes?
Did I take you back to those wonderful childhood mornings?
When free of routined life
You spoke with the wind
Spent hours and hours along the quiet riverside
With your friends and boundless happy times!

Yes, I am the paper boat
Floating on little rivulets
 Born after a heavy downpour

Amidst otherwise, a busy street!

Rainbow

My entry is scripted right after a downpour
As the nimbus clouds fade away,
And the warm rays intersect the prismy droplets
I emerge as a Rainbow .
A concoction of seven hues
My existence defined by their warmth,
The environment rejuvenated
I bask in the glory of freshness pristine
Have a conversation with the butterflies flying
As the flowers dance with the breeze fine,
The meadow came to say , “ Hi”,
I blushed at the praise bestowed
The happiness all around
Filled me with pleasure immense,
Wish I could stay a bit more, hence,
Nevertheless, will bid goodbye,
With lovely memories imbibed within,

Farewell, until next time !

An incomplete rendezvous with Rain

I came to meet you, again
After months of separation,
I remembered your songs…about rain,
About hope pouring down from heaven,
About relief and happiness,
About ecstasy of getting soaked to the skin,
About the smile that reached the eyes,
Tears of joy washed off the dirt
From expectant faces,
Working in the fields, rejoicing,
As I cascaded down, made my way
Into the heart of parched earth
The confluence resulted in abundance
Life sprung from all corners,
While I looked around….for you,
I knocked at your window pane,
To tell you, here I am,
I tiptoed first along the window sill,
Then tapped, but in vain,
Eager to resume our tete-e-tete
From where we left…last year,
Waited for hours, to hear you sing again,
Waited till the raindrops faded into a drizzle,
Gradually,
Waited till the last drop kissed the earth,
But…..you never came,
At your favorite spot……

By the side of the old window pane !

Wind

I travel far and wide
Across breathtaking landscapes
Touching mountains, hills , skyscrapers
Conversing with oceans, lakes and streams
Witnessing gossip, quarrel along the banks of rivers
Wriggling through crowded alleys
Fanning sweat dipped-faces swarming the streets
Brushing against dreams of wandering minds
Playing with the autumn leaves
Strewn across the bubbling parks and sidewalks
Collecting memories through Time
Living victory as well as defeat with the people I meet
My journey continues ………..
Till moments turning into cognizance
Overflow my cup of collections.

The Moon

Mysteriously adrift across the cloudy sea
The moon masked in misty glee
Evoking curiosity to know the unknown
What lies beneath,
The sheaf of silvery haze encircling its beautiful form
Travels alone , without the starry fleet
Tonight , leaving me mesmerized,
As I gaze above, with unblinking eyes,
A strange calmness enveloped me
Amidst the cacophony of mundane life,
Everything faded into distant oblivion,
Except , the magical galleon..........and
the enthralled me, standing alone !
